Here's the perfect cake for you chocolate lovers :)
Chocolate cake:
75 g butter
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
2.5 dl milk
1 egg
A splash of vanilla extract
1 tsp instant coffee
3 dl wheat flour
1 dl cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
2.5 dl caster sugar
Decorations:
5 dl whipping cream
1 handfull of strawberries
Strawberry jam
Vanilla cream
Sprinkles
Chocolate cake: Set the oven to 175 degrees. Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Remove the pan from the heat, add the milk, eggs, vanilla extract and instant coffee and stir.
Mix together the dry ingredients and sift into the saucepan and fold into a smooth batter.
Pour the batter into a lined heart-shaped springform and bake in the lower part of the preheated oven (175 c) for 40-55 minutes or until completely cooked through.
Decorations: Whip 5 dl whipping cream, mix 1/3 of it with strawberry jam (heat some frozen strawberries on the stove and let it cool before using).
Cut the cake into two layers. Add vanilla cream (recipe for vanilla cream: https://ileiah.com/blogs/news/strawberry-and-vanilla-pavlova). Put some whipped cream on the base layer but save some for the piping decorations.
Put the strawberry-whipped cream on top of the cake and decorate by piping whipped cream on top, adding strawberries & sprinkles!
